INFORMATION SHEET - Fall 2011 - Spring 2012
The READINESS at Grace United Methodist Church is a school that operates five days a week under the supervision of the Administrative Council of Grace United Methodist Church and under the direction of the Day School Advisory Board (DSAB).
The school operates in three divisions:
1 year prior to Kindergarten
1) Monday, Wednesday and Friday (MWF A.M.) mornings
2) Monday, Wednesday and Friday (MWF P.M.) afternoons
2 years prior to Kindergarten
3) Tuesday and Thursday (TT A.M.) mornings
REGISTRATION
A fee of $35.00 is charged with the registration of each child. This fee is for the purpose of securing a place in the school. The money is used for supplies. No child is enrolled before this fee is paid.
TUITION
Payment is due the 1st of each
month and considered late after the 15th of each month.
A $5.00 late fee is charged if tuition is paid after the 15th. Make all
checks payable to
GRACE READINESS. A $10.00 charge will be made if any check is returned to
the school by the bank.
1) Three day class fees are $95.00 a month.
2) Two day class fees are $85.00 a month.
SCHEDULE
The morning programs are from 9:00 - 11:30. Children are to be picked up promptly at 11:30 and are not to arrive before 9:00. The afternoon program is from 12:30 - 3:00. Children are to be picked up promptly at 3:00 and are not to arrive before 12:30. School opens with orientation for parents on August 21 at 7:00 p.m. in fellowship hall at Grace. Classes begin Monday, August 22.

ATTENDANCE
Please phone the Readiness at 447-2204 and ask for the Readiness about 9:15 to report your child's absence.
DRESS
As the children spend much time on the floor and weather permitting, we go outdoors, play clothes are encouraged. All children should be dressed appropriately for outdoor play. Please have your child bring a school bag everyday to school to bring home papers. The satchel type work best. PLEASE MARK YOUR CHILD'S BELONGINGS WITH HIS/HER NAME.
SNACKS AND BIRTHDAY TREATS
We will have snacks provided by the parents. We appreciate all the trouble you go to provide these nutritious snacks for the children. Birthday take-home treats are welcome and can be scheduled in advance with the teacher. We request you avoid cupcakes. They are too large for the children's appetites and are very messy. Take-home treats in baggies are fine.
FLOW OF TRAFFIC
When arriving, please park your car in the designated parking lot and walk your child to the northeast door and into the room. The children will be dismissed at the northwest door under the portico. When picking up your children, form a single line of cars. The teachers will help load the children into the cars. When your child or children are in your car, please leave so the next two cars can pull under the roof and can be filled. Carpools are encourage for your convenience.
SHOW AND TELL
We will have "Show and Tell" once each month. The date will be announced in the monthly newsletter. This is the one time in each group that the children are encouraged to bring something small from home ( toy or anything they wish to share) and tell us about as well as show it. PLEASE, NO GUNS AT ANY TIME.
NEWSLETTER
We will provide a monthly newsletter previewing upcoming topics and events. Please read and keep these for your own information. Please check the small bulletin board outside the Readiness room door for reminders and important information.
BAD WEATHER DAYS
Following the Lafayette School Corporation's decisions, we will only be closed when the weather is extremely cold or the roads are dangerous. When the radio announces that the Lafayette School Corporation is closed so are we.
